Et Cetera was a Canadian band originally from Quebec and formed in 1976 and disbanded in the same year after releasing their only album. Information about this band is scarce, even for the short duration of their career, except for their only album “Et Cetera” released in 1976 via Apostrophe. The style of the band has marked references to Gentle Giant music with personal traits given by the female vocal and a valuable use of the Moog. A very interesting disc with markedly Prog sounds, with a dynamic and expressive vocal test and a solid sound malgamation enriched by tempo changes and Symphonic sounds with a British touch and personal traits of the band. The album was reissued on CD for the first time in 1997 thanks to the Japanese Unidisc, and in Canada by the same label in 2001. Two other reissues in 2010 for Mandala and in 2021 for Belle Antique have given new visibility to this excellent album. . In the version the LP is however available at not too high prices, as well as CD reissues are found at low cost. A band that, like others, would certainly have deserved better luck at the time, whose only album is one of the best releases from Canada and certainly one of those with the most classic Progressive sound and close to the English bands, Gentle Giant above all. . A listening recommended for all lovers of ’70s Prog sounds with excellent keyboard work, an excellent vocal and a solid rhythm session enriched by tempo changes, certainly an excellent addition to all the record collections of lovers of the genre.
