[Interview] Exclusive interview with Queen Marsa

Dear readers, we are pleased to offer you in this article an interview with an Heavy rock band from Mallorca. We welcome Queen Marsa.

Your style incorporates elements of Stoner, Doom and Heavy Rock, where does your passion for this music come from?

It is a mix of each person’s influences and tastes that, although it may not seem like it, are very different. RATM, Zeppelin, Soundgarden, Mastodon… and if we continue we won’t stop

Your first full-length “I Am The Land” was released on September 15, 2023, how would you describe this work?

It’s the set of songs that were not recorded on the 1st EP and part of the songs that we have been creating over the years. We think that the new album shows the energy we release at live shows.

Granitic tracks with very intense vocals, what themes do the lyrics deal with?

The lyrics are based on personal experiences, but with an open interpretation to everyone

Your sound is energetic, with well-constructed riffs and solid, elaborate rhythm sections, how does the creative process of your tracks take place?

Someone from the string , guitar or bass section comes to rehearsal with a riff or structure and from there we start working on it. Then the voice joins in, providing melodies and from there we structure and introduce changes of rhythm to provide more dynamism

Your music is gritty and addictive, will there be a chance to hear you live in the near future?

Of course. The stage is our comfort zone. Right now we are organizing a tour in Spain but we would like visit other countries too

Your self-titled debut EP was released in 2020, how has your sound evolved over time?

We are constantly evolving. We have been improving it over the years and with no doubts ,Mega (psychosomatic studios)has taken the sound exactly where we were searching, more mature maintaining the essence of Queen marsa is

Spain has been very active in the music scene lately, how do you see the current scene and the future of your genre?

The scene is very active in Spain. Unfortunately it is very difficult to access the festival circuit if you are not an established or renowned band. Rock, Stoner and all variants within metal are still very present. Other genres such as Pop, Trap or Reaggeton currently cover almost the entire market.

What advice would you give to young artists approaching music in a more sophisticated genre such as yours?

They have to give it hard and enjoy it. They have to make mistakes and learn from them. And above all, let them experience a lot.

Do you have any other activities or artistic passions outside music?

Toni loves graphic arts and drawing. The 5 of us really like literature, comics and cinema…

I thank the band for the interview and wish them all the best for the continuation of their artistic career.

Thank you very much for spending some time with us. We hope you like it and enjoy our work.
