[Neo Era Prog #7] Psychedelic Ensemble

Over 30 years of experience in the musical field for this artist shrouded in mystery, The Psychedelic Ensemble is his artistic name, which has never revealed his real first name. He has received many awards, including over 20 and more ASCAP prizes and has collaborated as a composer and arranger with many high-leveled artists and recently also started a solo career. He composes and arranges, sings and plays all the instruments, making use of them in the last guest artist albums. He began publishing as a solo artist and under the pseudonym The Psychedelic Ensemble in 2009, his debut “The Art Of Madness” came out on Musea Records. The best Prog Awards debut album of the same year is nominated, reaching also the tops of the world rankings. In 2010, given the success of the previous one, he published the self-released “The Myth Of Dying“, with a mysterious guest on the violin and viola. The album is named best foreign album and best production at Prog Awards, as well as reaching 29th place in the Top 100 of Global Progressive Rock Poll 2010. The following year, “The Dream Of The Magic Jongleur” was released, featuring two guests , also anonymous to the fiddle and falsetto voice. This work combines tracks with a beautiful collection of original works of art produced for the album. He was nominated for Best Keyboard Performance (Album) and Best Keyboard Solo (The Riddle) at Prog Awards, as well as having reached the top of the best Prog charts in the world. In 2013 he published a concept with The Psychedelic Ensemble Orchestra and singer Ann Caren, entitled “The Tale Of The Golden King“, for Glowing Sky Records, which will also produce the following releases. Two years later “The Sunstone” comes out, also with Ann Caren and the addition of Michael Wilk from Steppenwolf, as well as other guests and a strong orchestral presence. This album is also a great success, as the charts of that year show, this artist and his releases are now a certainty. In February 2019 he publishes “Mother’s Rhymes“, also on this album he makes use of the collaboration of many guests, maintaining a high level and an excellent feedback from critics and the public. This artist’s music is a mix of Progressive, Symphonic, Fusion and Classical Music, creating a very personal style. The success achieved reflects his excellent skills as author of the texts, texts and performer, singing and playing all the instruments. Each album is a different musical journey, with always sought after themes, showing off its great inventiveness. We are facing an experienced, mature and complete artist, his productions are complex and elaborate and are the right meeting point between the genres that compose them. Demonstration of the enormous talent are the large number of awards received over the years by this “mysterious” poly-instrumentalist. I recommend listening to all Prog music lovers, regardless of their preferred style, the variety of influences contained will make their discography appreciated by a very wide audience. Enter this column dedicated to the artists who make up the modern Prog panorama, both for the high level of the compositions, their complexity and elaboration and the quality in the performance.
