[News] Lazuli announce the departure of guitarist Gédéric Byar

In a statement on their Facebook Page Lazuli have announced the departure of guitarist Gédéric Byar. Commenting they revealed that three weeks following the French lockdown, Byar expressed his wish to leave the band.

These 15 years spent alongside Ged were magnificent and full of love, no shadow on the board, in happiness and in torment and his resolution seemed to us only more confusing. Today, Ged chose another path, far from music and although I regret this 180 degree turn, I will not allow myself to judge his decision. It is to admit that a group is not a prison and that in love as friendship, there can be no key at the door.

Joining the band on guitar will be Arnaud Beyney.

Arnaud is a great musician but not that, a beautiful human being too!!! His fiery and smile put balm to our hearts. If Ged is unique, Arnaud is too; two very different musicians, this will prevent comparison…

Lazuli will return to gigging next year – confirmed dates:

01/03/21 (Mon): CAMBRIDGE, The Portland Arms
02/03/21 (Tue): NEWCASTLE, Think Tank?
03/03/21 (Wed): GLASGOW, Ivory Blacks
04/03/21 (Thu): LIVERPOOL, Cavern Club
07/03/21 (Sun): SOUTHAMPTON, The 1865
23/06/21 (Wed): LONDON, 229 The Venue

The band will also appear at next year’s Fusion Festival in Stourport (March) as well as the Ramblin’ Man Festival (July).
