[News] Reale Accademia Di Musica to release the new album “Lame Di Luce” On November 2022

Progressive Rock represented an unforgettable moment in the history of Italian music: born from the ashes of the beat and following the trends that came from across the Channel, it soon developed its own identity, which also characterized it with particularly original groups and talented musicians as Premiata Forneria Marconi, Osanna, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Pierrot Lunaire, just to give some examples, and among these we cannot fail to include Reale Accademia di Musica.

Their self-titled debut album released in 1972 has become a classic over the years. Suffice it to say that the original vinyl is highly sought after among collectors and is the subject of continuous reprints. It was since the mid-seventies that there was no record of the prestigious Roman ensemble that was reborn thanks to the initiative of the guitarist, as well as a founding member, Pericle Sponzilli who in 2018 with the album “Angeli Mutanti” restarted that idea , and bringing it into a contemporary and current horizon.

Together with Pericle Sponzilli on guitar, the group is completed by Fabio Liberatori, former keyboardist of Stadio and collaborator of Lucio Dalla, with the voice of Erika Savastani, of Deserto Rosso, very skilled in interpreting the lyrics of Sponzilli‘s songs and on bass Fabio Fraschini, creator of valuable rhythmic-melodic lines.

The music of Reale Accademia di Musica relies on the strong element that distinguished it in a peculiar way from the very beginning, namely the melody. Of course, it is a progressive group, but the philosopher’s stone to read its intimate essence is to be found in the refinement of the themes, with a refined and complex harmonic texture, and not in technical-timbral acrobatics so dear to the music of the 70s.

Lame di Luce” is the new album released on November 18 for Sony Music which boldly proposes an authentic, unlabable work, more Progressive in attitude than in canons. Between existential issues and metrics that introject mirages and experiences, sometimes with dreamlike and almost mystical signs and at times very linked to emotions and everyday life, Reale Accademia di Musica makes different souls coexist, such as pop, the American sound of acoustic guitars or the classical and “laterally” progressive harmonies.
