Watch a preview video through the YouTube player below:
Acidfest is a touring Pych fest which takes places in different places, worldwide: this year it took place in Austin, Texas during South by Southwest and also in Iceland, before reaching London.
The headliner act is The Cult Of One, making its debut gig in the UK. This is the new project by Henrik Björnsson of cult bands Singapore Sling and Dead Skeletons (both on Fuzz Club Records).
Other acts on the bill include:
Thee Lucifer Sams (Brazil / UK / Germany) a Psychedelic power trio created in Liverpool (now partly based in Hamburg, Germany) by Brazilian Ivan Thunders with musicians who’ve played in other local bands like Mugstar and The Affection, creating a powerful psych juggernaut of sound – no songs, no breaks just a full on, Instrumental Psychedelic trip.
Zetland are a new face in the Psych scene, playing super Groovy, Funky Psychedelia with great jams… and right now one of the best live acts in Liverpool.
The Crystal Teardrop is a new Psychedelic combo from the Midlandsa, that sounds like they’ve time-travelled straight from the Sixties, making their live debut in Liverpool after playing well-received gigs “down south” in the UK.
Looking Glass Alice is another new band also playing in Liverpool for the first time, after playing prestigious sets opening for acts such as Death and Vanilla and Fenella (Jane Weaver’s new musical project).
Esa Shields is a mysterious, unique and award-nominated solo performer from Liverpool, once described as sounding like “Brian Wilson from Mars,” making truly original Psychedelic Pop… and has performed as far afield as Germany and Iceland (for our Acidfest events there) always thrilling and surprising the audiences.
Guest DJs will spin the best in Psych and Garage Rock before, in-between and after the bands until late. This ACIDFEST Psych fest will be a real happening – a Psychedelic all-nighter you simply can’t miss!
“We have to create culture, don’t watch TV, don’t read magazines, don’t even listen to NPR. Create your own roadshow.” – Terence McKenna
