Norwegian band Tusmørke announced for November 29, 2019 the release of their seventh album ‘Leker for barn, ritualer for voksne.’ The album is based on two children’s musicals ‘The Bridge to the other Side‘ and ‘The Root of all Evil,’ composed partly by recordings of traditional Norwegian children’s songs and partly of new songs by the band.
The band say: “Our rhymes, riddles and games for children contain ancient elements. Could one find traces of ancient religious rituals in them? Apparently innocent texts take on a more presumptuous aspect when viewed in the light of human sacrifices, spiritual journeys and ecstatic trance rituals of past Europe. The cultural traits that are today associated with exotic voodoo rituals, Buddhism or cannibal hunters of New Guinea were once widespread among our Celtic and Germanic tribes.”
The album will be available on CD and Vinyl and will be accompanied by a 16-page booklet with the lirycs that illustrate the story.
