[News] Zopp announce the debut album for April 2020

Of all the Progressive Rock subgenres, the Canterbury Scene designation may be the most specifically geographed. The obvious contender would be the Italian prog scene. On the newly announced debut album from Zopp, we’re promised a hefty slice of Canterbury-Prog via collaboration with an Italian progressive rock drummer. The specificity of those geographical-sonic markers is then tempered with additions of classical, jazz, and ambient elements.

Sounds proggy, eh? It gets proggier. Zopp have taken their music off on a Tangent with a guest performance from Theo Travis and the production/mixing mastery of Andy Tillison. And how does this keys-meister describe the album? “It’s […] stuffed full of glorious fuzz organs, old clanky pianets, groaning Mellotrons and the occasional synthesiser.”

All the usual tracklisting & pre-order information is forthcoming, but Zopp and their label Bad Elephant Music have set a release date for April 10, 2020, and the band encourages interested parties to go ahead and ‘follow’ on Bandcamp as music will be posted there shortly.
