The Italian Progressive Metallers Avelion have announced the entry into the line-up of the new singer Riccardo Rizzardelli.
The band is currently putting the finishing touches on a number of new songs. “Bound to Blackness,” the first single with the new frontman, will be officially released on June 24, 2022.

Each new release by Avelion expands and amplifies the group’s mission, always looking for a dynamic sound that marries Progressive Metal and more modern influences. The Avelion‘s approach each song as an opportunity to destroy and rebuild the listener’s perception.

Avelion was born in Parma in 2008 and, after a few line-up changes, in 2011 they released their first studio work: the EP “Cold Embrace.”
Following the positive response received from critics and fans, the following year Avelion began an incessant live activity, also having the opportunity to play as a support band for Seventh Wonder (with Tommy Karevik, Kamelot), while at the same time a strong and ever growing fanbase develops worldwide.
In 2012 the band, following the collaboration with guitarist Olaf Thorsen (Labyrinth, Vision Divine), released the promotional single “Falling Down.”
Avelion‘s second EP “Liquid Breathing” was released in 2013, followed by a mini-tour in Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The EP delivers a more modern, mature and personal sound: a Melodic Progressive Metal mixed with Djent influences, all combined with a strong Electronic personality.
In 2015, with Oreste Giacomini and William Verderi as authors, the band enters Simone Mularoni‘s Domination Studio (DGM) to record the first full-length album: “Illusion Of Transparency,” which was released on April 07, 2017 via Revalve Records.
In March 2018 Avelion embark on a tour in support of the legendary Angra that crosses Belgium, Holland, France, Spain and Portugal. The dates also see the participation of Geoff Tate (ex Queensrÿche) as a special guest.
In May 2018 the band then released the single “Echoes and Fragments” Remix, the result of the collaboration with the Electro Metal artist The Algorithm.
There are still numerous dates in support of great bands: Primal Fear, Lacuna Coil and Kiko Loureiro.
At the end of 2019 the band separates from frontman William Verderi. The singer, driven by personal reasons and by mutual agreement with the band, interrupts his participation in the project without any kind of friction.
