Flightless Records are extremely proud to present “Our Last Day in the Sun,” the first single from The Slingers‘ debut album due out in early 2023. The track itself marks a significant break from the bands style of their first two self-released EPs: it employs a much bigger sonic landscape with droning, industrial guitars and fierce 80’s snares over desolate lyrics. The result of a steady creative partnership with local producer Errol Green (Big Yawn).
The Slingers have been actively gigging and self-releasing home recordings in Melbourne since 2017. These recordings have garnered a cult following on Youtube & Spotify resulting in packed pubs and sold out crowds all over town. This will be the first release on Flightless Records since their 2020 “Cruellest Cut / Kind Hearts” 7″ collaboration with Spike Fuck.
