After debuting with the lead single “Jellyfish,” released last September, Italian band Magrathea return with a new single and video. “Into Magrathea” is released with a captivating video clip that uses technology to give a 360-degree interactive view of a live performance inside a large shed, where plays of light and dark reveal the five musicians positioned in a circle. While being swept along by the music, the viewer can decide where to direct his or her gaze, controlling the direction of the camera at will, potentially making each viewing of the video a unique and different experience.

But it is clearly the music that plays a central role in this experience. Immersed in the variegated sounds, a product of the mixture of disparate influences from the Post-Rock, Ambient and Alternative Rock universes, the listener is transported for over six minutes into the belly of an emotional, deep and atmospheric track. An experimentation of intentions, approaches and sounds that already seems to define the identity of the project on its debut record.

The band comments on the release of the single, saying:
Into Magrathea is the second single taken from the MOMƎИTUM EP. It is the track in which the sense of the compositional, sonic and melodic research of the entire project is encapsulated.

This track is intended to express the original intentions of the experimental research to which the band has devoted itself, a research in some ways analogous to that of a galactic adventurer discovering unexplored corners of the universe. At the end of the day, it is a matter of trying to cast our gaze far beyond this burning home of ours, to rediscover elsewhere, in the infinity of the universe, the authentic origin of our planet, the only one that can host us. What Magrathea is for the famous British novelist Douglas Adams, the forge of every other existing planet, constitutes for the band the access to that promised land that is identified with an incessant search for truth.

The single, produced at La Buca Recording Club in Montichari (BS), as well as the video by the band’s own drummer Giancarlo Raineri, can be listened to on all major digital music platforms.
