Stoner Metal band bunsenburner shows Ambient side with track “Mouches Volantes” taken from forthcoming album “poise.”
German Stoner Metal band bunsenburner has revealed a new track from its debut full-length, “poise,” which will be released on 9 December via bensnburner records. The song is called “Mouches Volantes” and is one of five ambient songs included on the album!

The concept behind “Mouches Volantes” was to have Bene Albert and the recordings as leaders, to lead the other musicians through high and low dynamics. Some played individual drone notes, altering the sound with an e-bow and wah pedal, while Krahl played bass with a double bass bow. The record Bene used was “Sunstar” Tom Ehrlich, while Norman was inspired by Bohren und der Club of Gore. The title translates to “Ocular Floats,” the little specks you see when you close your eyes.
These ambient tracks are called “Flächen,” which means “field” or “carpet” in German. In these tracks, each musician is motivated to explore different sounds coming from their respective setups, while being urged in a way to restrain themselves; to remain ‘cool‘, without overdoing it, creating different emotions through the sound, with a more Experimental and filmmaker’s approach, compared to the album’s Heavy tracks.
The album “poise” is the result of three days of recording, with the full line-up and without preliminary arrangements or overdubs, at huji maja Studios. In the spirit of full-on experimentation, “poise” will surprise listeners with a combination of Stoner Doom, Jazz and Ambient elements.
