We are pleased to offer you in this article an interview with a project that offers Post-Metal/Rock
sounds contaminated by different genres and styles, whose new album ‘poise’ was released on December 09, 2022. Welcome bunsenburner.
Hi, how are you?
Hi, I’m good – thanks for having me!
Your genre is Post-Metal/Rock with different contaminations, where does your passion for these sounds come from?
I think we have all a very wide range of influences and eclectic tastes in music. For us it’s very normal not only being interested in one genre, so it comes quite natural to let all these different moods affecting our music.
Your new album ‘poise’ was released on December 09, 2022, how would you describe this work?
I’d describe „poise“ as a journey through different atmospheres. Including our love for heavy riffs but also the curiosity to discover different sounds and approaches to music and songwriting.
Your music is full of contaminations of different genres and styles, how do you go about composing your tracks?
The Album has a very Jazz-approach. Let Stuff happen and not looking for perfectionism. For the heavy Songs I wrote the Riffs and presented them to the other Guys and we put them together and recorded 2-3 Takes. For the more ambient Songs we had little mood concepts for every Piece. It was more listening to each other, reacting, making decisions about taking a lead or following.
Your music is very refined and engaging, it would be interesting to hear it live, do you have plans for this?
Unfortunately no Gigs in the near future, but we are just about beginning to book some shows for next year.
Yours is a very interesting album full of ideas, do you already have plans for future releases?
Yes, there are still plenty of Ideas and we are looking forward to the next recording session in the first half of 2023.
The music market has changed a lot in recent years, how difficult is it to establish yourself with a more sophisticated music genre like yours?
I think with projects like that it’s important to let the whole production process happen without thinking too much about the final release or even any marketing stuff. After the artistic work, you can look for a matching audience. In general I think about all the change in the Industry in a positive way. Of course there are plenty of things to complain about, but all in all you can reach way more people than 20 years ago. Maybe one important thing is just don’t think about how to establish yourself too much – more having a good time while creating.
What advice would you give to a young band approaching the modern music scene with Post-Metal sounds?
There is no win or fail – there is only make!
As usual, I will leave the last question free to allow you to talk about any topic of your choice not touched upon in the previous questions.
If you download „poise“ from Bandcamp, you will get additional infos about the recording process/approach and an individual Track Rundown from our perspective!
I thank bunsenburner for the pleasant interview and wish her all the best for the continuation of the musical career.
