The Galician band Moloch presents two more songs from “Hipofanías,” their second tribute to the poet Jorge Cuña from Pontevedra.

And they do it through a live session performed at Estudo Bonobo, where the three members of the band – Laura, Violeta and Andrés – are teachers.

Estudo Bonobo is an Arts School located in the city of Pontevedra. It seeks the integral development of the students through projects conceived by the students themselves, within a cooperative, supportive and egalitarian educational framework. The school, which also functions as a recording studio, opened its doors in 2016 under the leadership of Gonzalo Maceira, Rocío Romero, Alejandro Alonso and Violeta Mosquera.

In the song “Insectos,” which is now presented in this live session, the darkest verses of Jorge Cuña‘s book “Hipofanías” meet the roughest sounds of the band, which tries to transmit the strength of those verses through a stark music, frenetic rhythm, octatonic scales and claustrophobic sound environments.

In “Cuervos,” we find a much more relaxed but no less Dark Atmosphere, with the particularity of a constant note that resonates in the high part of the piano, imitating a bell, whose repetition gives the song an obsessive touch. It is a song whose intensity is constantly growing, starting with very soft vocals and percussion to end with a lot of power, in consonance with the emotional charge of Jorge Cuña‘s verses.
