The Universe By Ear have released three studio albums in six years. All without names, all without
studio gimmicks. The Swiss trio with their heads in the stars and their roots in the Rock cellar make
music to discover and get lost in. Prog without unicorns, stoner without clichés and Psychedelia
without pills. Music that you have to experience live in order to experience its full force and effect.
Or on album number four, which is out of the ordinary and yet fits into the discography of The
Universe By Ear: It is a best-of and a live-album at the same time. And the first work to be given a
name: “Sail Around the Sun – Tour Live.” Recorded on the tour of the same name in 2022 and 2023 at
gigs in Switzerland, Germany and Italy, the bursting album is a reflection of what The Universe By Ear
sound like on stage – without tricks or overdubs. Three men with their instruments, effects and
voices – and the odd slip-up.
“Sail Around the Sun – Tour Live” is a door opener, a calling card and a first hello for anyone who
doesn’t yet know The Universe By Ear. And, of course, an indispensable fourth album for all those
who were already there for “I,” “II” and “III.”
