German Prog Metal act The Hirsch Effekt is joining Caligula’s Horse on their extensive European tour. Following the trio’s recent appearances on stage as support for Leprous and as part of their “Urian” album tour, they will now be joining the Australians from Caligula’s Horse for 17 dates across Europe in May.
With a 21st position in the German album charts, appearances at Wacken, ArcTanGent, UK Tech-Fest, Full Force and as headliners at Euroblast, The Hirsch Effekt have recently caused quite a stir in the scene. In September 2023, ‘Urian’, the band’s sixth studio album, was released via Long Branch Records.

Following the completion of their “Holon” trilogy (“Holon: Hiberno” – 2010, “Holon: Anamnesis” – 2012, “Holon: Agnosie” – 2015), the 2017 album “Eskapist,” the 2020 album “Kollaps” and the subsequent cementing of their reputation as a live band that smashes everything to pieces, “Urian” brings together everything that has allowed The Hirsch Effekt to evolve over the years on a whole new level. Thematically, the band takes up current world events on the new album and deals with all the crises we are currently surrounded by.
The trio’s complex, Metal and yet incredibly unique sound is a one-of-a-kind phenomenon in the German music scene. Extreme Metal stands alongside anthemic choruses and orchestral arrangements. However, virtuosity is not degraded to a meaningless vehicle with The Hirsch Effekt. Every song that lyrically goes to places that hurt and touch emotionally hits the listener. As a result, concerts by The Hirsch Effekt often turn into a collective frenzy of movement and love.
With four chart albums in the bag and more tours in the pipeline, 2024 promises to be a memorable year for The Hirsch Effekt.
