Marco states: “‘My Eyes Are Wide Open’ is about the feeling of responsibility towards the things or people that surround us, accompany us and mean so much to us. Sometimes, unfortunately, we forget all too quickly how valuable these things, these feelings, these moments are, because they seem so self-evident to us … until we miss them painfully.
But there is also this despair at our arrogance, our blindness to the beauty that surrounds us, which does not allow us to open our eyes to what is essential, but also all too fragile and transient in this world … and who knows how long this beauty will remain with us.“
