Giancarlo Erra‘s Experimental Prog outfit Nosound feat. Tim Bowness released the Pink Floyd‘s cover “Dogs” on May 10, 2024 via Kscope Records. Stream the track through the Spotify player below:

“AND IT’S OUT! Our rendition of Pink Floyd’s Dogs, with Tim Bowness as special guest sharing vocal duties
Animals has always been among my top three PF albums, and the lyrics of Dogs have always struck me as being so true to today’s capitalist world. Yet I always found the ‘proggy’ instrumental parts a bit too much (I like the more lyrical Floyds), and felt the lyrics got lost.
So, talking to Tim about the idea of doing a cover of Dogs, we already had in mind how to make it ‘Nosound’, keeping all the beautiful original melodies, chords and lyrics but turning it into a ‘song’, from 17 minutes to 7 minutes, taking the lyrics out and in front.
Everyone knows we have never been fans of covers, and we are even more against releasing them, especially if they try to be like the original.
So we just tried to imagine how Gilmour and Waters would write it today, and I’m very proud of the result: everyone poured their heart and soul into it, and we’re excited to share it with everyone and can’t wait to hear what you think!“
