Newly signed to Rise Above/Popclaw Records (joining world-renowned bands such as Ghost, Electric Wizard, Uncle Acid, etc), Scott Hepple and The Sun Band, are a Psychedelic Garage Rock band from Newcastle, UK.
Today, Scott Hepple and The Sun Band are releasing their first 7″ single, “Smoke and Frown,” under the cult record label. Following the release of the single, the band is returning to mainland Europe for dates in August/September 2024 before heading into the studio to record their debut LP for Rise Above, which will be expected to be released in early 2025.
With extensive touring experience from previous DIY releases, the band has also had the privilege of supporting acts like LOVE, Acid Mothers Temple, Hooveriii and GIFT. Over the past year, they’ve gained recognition from Third Man Records, Rough Trade, and BBC Radio 6, further cementing their growing influence.

“‘Smoke and Frown’ is about how stifling and claustrophobic London is in the height of summer. Heavy pollution and alienation in the baking hot sun. We think it’s a perfect first single for Rise Above/Popclaw and it paves the way for what’s to come next.”
