Danish Progressive Metal band Danefae shares the third single “Natsværmer” (Danish for ‘Moth’) from the band’s second album “Trøst” set for a January 31, 2025 release. “Trøst” conjures a world of nature, myths and magic and at the heart of the band’s expression is vocalist and lyricist Anne Olesen, who draws on Danish legends and literature to craft personal stories, delivered virtuously through the band’s organic, complex, and melodic music.

“Trøst” (Danish for ‘Solace’) doesn’t convey a general thematic thread but contains various stories about being human, specifically from Anne’s Olsen’s perspective. Where the two first singles “Blind” and “Fuglekongen” dived into general human existential themes, the point of departure for “Natsværmer” is a concrete experience, on which Anne elaborates:
“Natsværmer is a story about feeling lost and seeking consolidation without daring to ask for it. It is written on a childhood memory about longing for light and warmth. Just like a moth, longing to break through the window glass to get into the house.”
