Adrian Smith and Richie Kotzen today release “Black Light,” the second single from their new album “Black Light/White Noise.” The track is accompanied by a dynamic and layered video, produced and directed once again by Kevin and Richard Ragsdale, aka The Ragsdale Brothers (Daughtry, Dorothy feat. Slash, Theory of A Dead Man), featuring the duo performing with bassist Julia Lage and drummer Bruno Valverde, along with acclaimed Russian acrobat, contortionist and former Cirque de Soleil performer Gyulnara Karaeva.

“Black Light” is a song that almost didn’t make it onto the album, until a late night studio session led them to find enlightenment. And it is fortunate that it did, because not only is it a song about deceit and deception, where black light is a metaphor that reveals the truth about a person hiding beneath the surface, but it has become a real highlight of the album, even lending its name to the album title. With the help of British photographer John McMurtrie, he also inspired the album cover, with its UV lights echoing the special paint of the custom black and pink wooden Fender and Charvel guitars.
Richie‘s comment: “It was a fun video to make as all the ones we’ve played together have been. Adding the performance section with UV was great and took us back to the shoot we did in London last year.“
Adrian‘s comment: “Our friend Gyula added something to the video, she helped the narrative of the song. ‘Black Light/White Noise’ will be released on the 4th of April on BMG unlike previously announced.“
