Norwegian instrumental Post-Rock trio Les Dunes releases a brand new audio single from their upcoming second album “From Etne to the Edge of Space,” out in September 2025 on Kapitän Platte.
Today, Haugesund-based instrumental trio Les Dunes return with “Vangen” — a ten-minute sonic journey that evolves from serene minimalism into a majestic, almost cinematic crescendo.
Named after a central area in their hometown, “Vangen” captures a sense of space, movement, and emotional gravity. The track unfolds like a trip: immersive, slow-burning, and ultimately expansive. Think Pink Floyd’s Atmospheric depth colliding with the raw intensity of “Explosions in the Sky” — yet with a Nordic edge that’s all their own.
Clocking in at ten minutes, “Vangen” challenges the format of a single. It’s not just a track — it’s an experience. One that draws you in quietly and refuses to let go.
Purchase and Stream the single on Bandacmp:
Consisting of members from bands like The Low Frequency in Stereo, Undergrunnen, Lumen Drones, Helldorado and Action & Tension & Space. The band consists of Per Andreas Haftorsen on guitar, Morten Jackman on drums and Per Steinar Lie on bass.
The music of Les Dunes reminds of the fantastic slow-core era bands of the 90ies, like Codeine who create their own version of “Explosions In The Sky” songs or like Per Steinar Lie claims “it feels like the vibe of the early days of The Low Frequency In Stereo.” The music is rooted in a thought of a long freeway drive at night where time stops and the mind flows.
In 2023 Les Dunes released their self-titled debut album on German boutique label Kapitän Platte.
After “Lost Signals From Utsira,” “Vangen” is the second single from the second Les Dunes album “From Etne to the Edge of Space.” It will be released in September 2025 on boutique label Kapitän Platte.
