Luminol Records, the leading Italian Post-Progressive label, is proud to announce the release of “Delta,” the new album by Ujig. A flagship artist of the label thanks to their charismatic presence and internationally-minded sound, Ujig return three years after “Ujigami” with “Delta“—their fourth album, enriched by the extraordinary contributions of three iconic figures in Italian music: Fabrizio Bosso, Paola Folli, and Lorenzo Cimino.

Once again straddling Contemporary Jazz, Fusion eclecticism, and Progressive sophistication, the Milan-based quartet recorded “Delta” in two studio sessions between July–August and November 2024. However, the seven tracks that shape the album have a longer backstory: they were composed in the aftermath of “Ujigami,” in 2021, making this new work a culmination of years of reflection and evolution.

Driven by an irrepressible creative urgency, “Delta” marks a significant artistic and conceptual step forward for the band, always in pursuit of sonic experimentation and deeper humanistic meanings. Ujig explain:
“We believe that one of the main purposes of music—beyond its spiritual dimension—is to share emotions and ideas, and to offer different perspectives to beings who share the same space and time. Delta was born from the realization that the modern world increasingly enslaves people to numbers. The value of things—and of human beings—is often reduced to the numbers they produce: whether it’s a bank account balance or the streaming count of an artist. Music gives us the chance to play freely with numbers, as we should in our everyday lives.”

Delta” is the culmination of a decade-long journey of exploration and refinement for Konstantin Kräutler (drums), Edoardo Maggioni (keyboards), Marco Leo (guitars), and Cesare Pizzetti (bass)—a journey that began with the creation of their debut album “8 Out of 8.” Now more than ever, Ujig distinguish themselves through a unique blend of progressive jazz, electronic influences, and daring improvisation. The album features standout guest performances: the unmistakable trumpet of Fabrizio Bosso on “All The Things It Is” and “Sema Beyaz,” Lorenzo Cimino on “Deedoo,” and the unmistakable voice of Paola Folli on “Sema Beyaz“—all adding elegance and depth to the compositions.

Each track is a sonic journey that reflects the band’s core philosophy: to break boundaries, explore new dimensions, and challenge conventions. Most importantly, Ujig embrace the value of difference.

“Delta is the symbol of difference in mathematics. Difference is the uniqueness of every human being. Difference and individuality are treasures that must be preserved and protected in a world that increasingly pushes toward uniformity,” the band states.

Delta” was preceded by four music videos (“Deedoo,” “Make Make,” “All The Things It Is,” and “Zorua“), and is now available in both CD and vinyl formats, distributed in Europe and the USA in collaboration with Ma.Ra.Cash and Self. The album is also available on all major digital platforms. A series of live performances is planned to present the new material on stage.

Fabrizio Bosso comments:
“It was a real pleasure to collaborate once again with Ujig. I find their music to be truly original—particularly due to their unconventional writing and the meticulous attention they give to their sonic choices. Enjoy the listen.”
