Kalamazoo-based Instrumental Math/Post/Progressive Rock duo Lucius Fox have unveiled the official video for the new single “Michigan” taken from their new album, “The Death and Life of the Great Lakes,” released on September 12, 2025.

I. Lake Isle Memorial
A tribute to Roxanne Smith Cronk. My Mom and my favorite person. Lake Isle Beach was her favorite place on Earth.
II. Michigan
Lake Michigan in July. Teal waves, dunes, sunset on the lake, summer air, sand and pine. The best part of living in Michigan.
III. Huron
Fear of an oil spill from Line 5 and the damage it would cause to Lakes Huron and Michigan. The beauty of the limestone cliffs along the shore of Bruce Peninsula.
IV. Ontario
An unnervingly warm spring day in Canada’s biggest city, a beautiful night amongst the skyscrapers.
V. Erie
Youthful memories of Cedar Point and Cleveland, an entire city’s water supply poisoned by anthropogenic algal blooms.
VI. Superior
The largest freshwater body on Earth. Home to over 550 shipwrecks, waves over 28 feet tall, and some of the oldest rock on Earth’s surface. The epicenter of Michigan’s labor movement within its copper and iron mining industries. A monster.
VII. July
The sense of dread, the horror of loss, the juxtaposition of real death and a beautiful evening, the inability to sleep, the financial strain of unexpected loss, the power of community and mutual aid, the beauty of Northern Michigan, the love of family, the Lake Michigan sunset, the silver reflection of the sun in the waves, and the ability for those that we lose to live on through the connections they gave us.
