Time's Forgotten Songs of Awakening

Hailing from Costa Rica, Progressive Metal band Time’s Forgotten recently released their fifth studio album, “Songs of Awakening,” last month, via Melodic Revolution Records. The new album finds the band celebrating a 20-year musical journey with the release of the new record that delves into themes of empathy, renewal, and self-discovery—inviting listeners to let go of the past in order to begin again.

Today, the band are pleased to share the new video for the track “Forgiveness” from the album.

The band said this about the new song and video:
Forgiveness is the last song on our record and the most emotional. We wanted to end Songs of Awakening on a note of hope and the word “forgive” is core to that. Forgive yourself, others and the life you got. Let go, live free, make amends, talk it out and build something beautiful within you.

This video was shot in the Songs Of Awakening debut concert in the most iconic venue in our country: The National Theater, which was recently opened up for events other than classical music and theater. So we count ourselves privileged to be abled to bring prog and metal to this national symbol..

We wanted to show the world that there is a way out, that something good is always waiting for us at the end of every path we choose. All we need is to learn to love ourselves a little more each day,” says Juan Pablo Calvo, the band’s keyboardist, rhythm guitarist, and producer.

Musically, the band explores a more modern side of Progressive Metal while staying true to their signature melodic style and storytelling. ”We didn’t want to sound like a mathematical equation, but we did want to incorporate some of those elements into this album,” says Calvo. ”There are lots of electronic textures, driving grooves, layered instrumentation, and rich vocal harmonies. This is our heaviest record to date, but also our most vulnerable.

To close the album on a powerful note, the band assembled a choir of about 25 fellow singers-including friends, family, and members of other bands, for the song “Forgiveness,” emphasizing the themes of inclusion and togetherness.
