Artisans of a sound that is at once massive and delicate, HamaSaari embody the soul of modern Progressive Rock. Drawing inspiration from genre-defining acts such as Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, and Karnivool, the band carefully chisels and polishes a musical language built on emotion, atmosphere, and depth.
Born from the ashes of their previous incarnation Shuffle, HamaSaari emerge with a more serene and melancholic identity. Their music unfolds like a stormy ritual: a tide of raindrops falling from a dark, clouded sky, slowly parting to reveal scattered light, and ultimately, a halo of hope.
Their debut album, “Ineffable,” released in early 2023, captures this balance perfectly. Delicate yet powerful, the record moves through dark and vibrant atmospheres that merge into a kaleidoscopic soundscape in constant motion. The band’s sonic palette is rich and organic: dynamic, polyrhythmic bass and drums provide a sturdy backbone, interwoven with arpeggiated guitars drenched in long reverbs, all supporting a clear, subtly treated vocal presence.
Now, nearly three years later, the band’s forthcoming new album “Pictures” picks up where the debut left off and emerges as a central conceptual statement. The record explores images, paintings, and dimensions, and what we choose to place both inside and outside them. Drawing inspiration from myths and legends, ancient civilisations, dreams, reality, and fiction, “Pictures” delves into belief systems, fears, needs, and the fundamental quests that shape the human experience.
While firmly rooted in Progressive Rock traditions, from Pink Floyd to Karnivool, Oceansize, and Black Peaks, HamaSaari also pull influence from Post-Rock, Folk, and Alternative spheres, including Other Lives, LANKUM, and Birds in Row. Above all, the band is driven by music that speaks from the heart and is shared without boundaries.
With “Pictures,” HamaSaari present a deeply human, cinematic, and emotionally resonant debut, a record that invites listeners to drift, reflect, and lose themselves in its shifting dimensions.
Following the release of “Pictures,” HamaSaari will take the album to the stage with an extensive European tour throughout spring and summer 2026. The tour will see the band bringing their captivating, emotionally charged live show to clubs and festivals across France, Germany, Spain, and the UK, culminating in major festival appearances later in the year.
