London-based trio No Father’s Son have emerged from the underground with a striking debut single, “No Baptism Bathes” — a taste of their forthcoming debut EP, “The Guilt of Missing Out,” set for release on March 13, 2026, and available now for pre-order exclusively via Bandcamp.

The band — Magnus Burling (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Raya Cave (bass, electric guitar, backing vocals), and Nathanael Rennie (drums, percussion) — brings a theatrically charged sensibility to the intersection of Post-Grunge and Progressive rock, building a sound that favors structural complexity without ever sacrificing accessibility. Production duties are shared between Raya Cave and Claire Sutton, who also handled engineering and mix/mastering, lending the project a sharp, cohesive sonic identity from the ground up.

The track unfolds across layered motifs and shifting rhythmic terrain, anchored by Burling’s declarative vocal delivery and lyrics that cut deep — theologically loaded, existentially raw, and impossible to reduce to a simple summary. Lines like “No baptism bathes / Just washes the cage” and “How can you blame what you made” land with the weight of a genuine reckoning, drawing on centuries of religious guilt and inherited identity while feeling entirely contemporary. The closing Kyrie eleison invocation is both haunting and perfectly placed — a liturgical echo inside a thoroughly secular crisis.
