“The Wanderer and His Shadow” is the title of the new album by D.P Mann, the solo project of David Pérez, a young musician from the city of Quintero in the Quinta Región, which he himself has defined as Dark Prog Rock.
The work is born from the concept of the “shadow“, directly inspired by the psychology of Carl Jung, understood as the repressed and hidden part of the human being. The album title is also a nod to Nietzsche, as throughout the record one perceives a solitary wanderer traversing different mental and emotional states — from insomnia and internal conflict to psychological collapse — which is particularly evident in the album’s closing track, “The One Who Left Us Behind.”
This is an atmospheric proposition that combines influences from classic and modern Progressive Rock — Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson — with more Electronic sonorities such as Moby and Aphex Twin.

“The Wanderer and His Shadow” is the third extended play by D.P. Mann, a Progressive rock journey shaped by the atmospheric depth of Porcupine Tree, the Experimental edge of King Crimson, and subtle touches of Electronic Music.
This conceptual record follows a solitary protagonist haunted by his own shadow, a presence that grows darker and more intrusive as the story unfolds. The narrative intertwines with immersive soundscapes, expansive instrumental passages, and lyrics that explore fear, introspection, and the quiet unraveling of the self.
All tracks were composed and performed by the musician himself, who also handled recording, production, mixing and mastering, as well as lyrics and visual artwork.
