Helsinki-based Cinematic Post-Metal collective KAUAN have shared a remarkable document of their live world: a full premiere performance of their latest album “Wayhome,” captured at Espoo Cultural Centre on November 14th, 2025.

“Wayhome” is KAUAN‘s most ambitious production to date — essentially one 50-minute song divided into eight tracks for the modern listener’s convenience. The live performance mirrors this architectural vision: two uninterrupted 50-minute sets performed from a seated position, with beautiful lighting design and special background video footage by Mircea Purdea, creating an immersive, almost cinematic ritual.
Founded in 2005 by Anton Belov, KAUAN‘s music evokes feelings of languor and nostalgia, drawing upon viola, choirs, slow and melancholic piano melodies, ambient vibes and a neoclassical approach. The album was fully produced in 96kHz, features a 22-piece choir and an endless number of synth and FX layers, and utilized 1,000 tracks at its peak — maxing out Logic Pro’s multitrack limit.
“Wayhome” is dedicated to journeys in both literal and mental senses. Both “way” and “home” can be interpreted differently: one can return home after a long absence, try to solve an inner problem, overcome an obstacle, be reborn, or even die. Translated into a live context, the performance intensifies that emotional weight — each movement unfolding with the gravity of ceremony.
