Montreal, QC – Canadian Progressive Rock project Code 18 announces their highly anticipated new album “Two Places,” set for release on April 23rd across all major digital platforms and streaming services.

Formed in 2008 by keyboardist, composer, and producer Johnny Maz, Code 18 has steadily built a reputation for richly textured Symphonic Prog-Rock rooted in thoughtful composition and dynamic musical interplay.

Johnny Maz, also known for his work in the acclaimed Prog collective HUIS, serves as the main creative force behind Code 18—writing, arranging, and producing the music that defines the project’s unique sonic identity.

Joined by talented collaborators JF Rémillard on guitar and Benoit “Bönz” Plamondon on vocals, Code 18 debuted with the critically noted concept album “Human Error!” in 2020. That release explored narrative and musical contrasts with sweeping arrangements and vibrant instrumental craftsmanship.

Two Places” continues this artistic evolution, but pushes the envelope, blending intricate progressive structures with evocative lyrical themes reflecting dualities—inner vs. outer worlds, heart vs. mind, and solitude amidst connection.

Highlights of the new album:
• Concept album telling the story of moving from one place to another when dealing with difficulties.
• Complex, layered keyboards and synth textures
• Bold, narrative-driven songwriting Guitar and rhythm sections that bridge Classic Prog and Modern Rock
• Visually immersive lyric themes

Two Places is our most ambitious work yet,” says Johnny Maz. “We wanted to push further into both emotional resonance and musical expansion while honoring the roots that brought us here.

The album will be supported by a promotional campaign including singles, music videos, and select live appearances.
