Renowed archival label Bright Carvings the album “No Smoke Emerging” by UK Progressive Rock band Omson Greme, due out on July 05, 2026.
Omson Greme, based at Keele University from 1974 to 1976 played wilful, experimental, Progressive Rock, a strange mash-up of Canterbury, Folk, Hawkwind and Krautrock. Our nearest reference point is Friends, Friends‘ Friend period Audience or Nine Days Wonder. They recorded a 25 copy only Private Press Live LP in 1974 that we are still trying to restore as the sound quality is truly, deeply terrible. Here we have a crisp Radio Broadcast and excellent Studio Sessions that showcase them at their whimsical best. The world, sadly, did not listen so a couple of years later they gave up on Progressive Music and transmuted into the Punk band The Exits whose only EP now fetches £750 or more.
