UK Math/Post-Rock duo Gudewife has unveiled official video for the single “When Silence Forgets Itself” taken from upcoming album, “Atoms, Don’t Die,” set for release on July 24, 2026 via Ripcord Records.

Gudewife are an instrumental Math/Post-Rock duo from the North West of the UK.
Blending elements of Math Rock, Post-Rock, Ambient, Experimental, Jazz, IDM, Psych, and Prog, the band craft a dynamic and exploratory approach to instrumental music. Their sound is driven by the angular, melodic guitar work of Luke Burrows and the frenetic, intricate rhythms of drummer Tom Holmes, enriched by hazy synth textures and evocative found sounds.
Through shifting time signatures, evolving tempos, and a strong sense of melody, Gudewife create richly textured compositions that move seamlessly between introspective calm and bursts of chaotic energy, constantly pushing their sonic boundaries.
An emerging force within the UK underground, the duo have shared stages with acts such as Alpha Male Tea Party, Pleiades, and Vordermann, steadily building momentum ahead of their next release.
Their new EP, “Atoms, Don’t Die,” is a meditation on loss in all its forms. Inspired by the idea that matter never truly disappears, only disperses, the record explores themes of death, grief, the passing of youth, and the erosion of belief.
Across five tracks, Gudewife guide the listener through a wide emotional and sonic spectrum, from ambient introspection to tightly wound, high-energy passages.
Atoms, Don’t Die was produced by Tom Peters at Trapdoor Studios and mastered by Stephen Kerrison, and will be released on July 24 via Ripcord Records.
