Doctors of Space, the Futuristic Space Rock collaboration featuring veterans of the Heavy Psychedelic scene, has announced the release of “Astral Sessions Vol 8.” Scheduled for a digital arrival on August 15, 2026, this installment marks the definitive conclusion of the project’s long-running Astral Session series.
The duo brings together the kosmische sensibilities of Dr Space (synths, Hammond, Mellotron), known for his work with Øresund Space Collective and Black Moon Circle, and the gritty, Fuzz-laden pedigree of Dr Martin Weaver (guitars, bass, drum programming), a founding member of cult legends Wicked Lady and Dark.
This final volume comprises five expansive tracks culled from a series of improvised jams recorded throughout late 2022. The material ranges from the motorik-infused opening of “Lukadron” to the nearly fifteen-minute odyssey “Scumboy,” alongside tracks with titles reflecting the project’s dry wit, such as “Too many assholes in the World“.
The sessions were mixed and mastered by Dr Space at his Estúdio Paraíso Nas Nuvens in Central Portugal, ensuring a sonic landscape that balances Experimental Electronic textures with Heavy, driving Rock. The release is visually complemented by original artwork from David Graham.
Collectors should note that a limited edition CD-R will be made available for purchase on August 7, 2026, preceding the full digital release.
