Manchester Morgue has officially released the full stream of their latest EP, “III,” a release that weaves together the disparate chronologies of three men across different historical epochs. The record serves as a grim anthology of “questionable resurrections” and ancient grudges that refuse to remain buried.
The narrative core of the EP centers on Balthazar Immeral Yanovich, a figure condemned to a restless existence, unable to find peace in death until his vengeance is fully realized. This curse habitually drags his companions—Joseph Wilhelm Von Pappenheim III and Shawn Rhagan O’Riley—back from the threshold of the grave to face shadows of the past that reappear with “deplorable punctuality”.
Musically, the power trio explores a dense sonic landscape where Stoner/Doom weight meets the atmospheric nuances of Heavy Prog and Victorian-era psychedelic Rock. The lineup features Pappenheim on drums, vocals, and keyboards; Yanovich on guitar and baby sitar; and O’Riley handling bass duties.

“The Sorcerer“: An Occult-infused opener where a ritual begins and time itself slows down. The lyrics describe a figure rising from the dust and fire, blurring the lines between the living and the dead.
“Farewell To Gleann An Ghad“: A shift toward the melancholic, reflecting on a homeland consumed by fire and memory. The protagonist dwells on the “green fields” of a lost village and bids a final adieu to “old Erin’s Isle.”
“Betrayers!“: The EP concludes with a visceral tale of brotherhood fractured by gunpowder and sharpened knives. It is a narrative of vengeance where no abyss is deep enough to hide those who have fled from their sins.
The record is permeated by an evocative atmosphere of “city Heat” and fire, capturing a world where “black eagles” fly and shadows conspire.
