Finnish Progressive Rock outfit Kuumet premiere the official music video for “Narcosis,” the second single from their highly anticipated debut album, scheduled for release later this year via Inverse Records.
The track is now available for streaming, alongside its official video premiere on YouTube:
Presented by Inverse Records, the single tackles a deeply contemporary and profound theme: the daily dopamine addiction that shapes modern society.
Narcosis speaks to a distinctly modern dopamine addiction that we encounter daily all around us. Various screens, work tasks, or even food function as first-aid kits. It seems neurons must perpetually supply the brain with an endless flow of pleasure and information, constant stimulation. Narcosis is thus a drug-induced stupor in which we perpetually live.
Musically, “Narcosis” seamlessly weaves Progressive Rock structures with rich Psychedelic Rock textures, creating a hypnotic, immersive atmosphere that perfectly mirrors the song’s conceptual theme.
Kuumet was formed in 2019 in Oulu, Finland, in the aftermath of a tribute concert celebrating a Finnish Progressive Rock legend. The band was assembled at the initiative of veteran drummer Vesa Ranta (ex-Sentenced, The Abbey, and Cemetery Skyline), who had temporarily hung up his drumsticks before finding a renewed musical spark in this new project.
The collective brings together seasoned players from the Oulu music scene, featuring members of prominent local acts such as The Aeon, THJKB, and Hietaketu.
“Narcosis” marks the band’s second offering, following their debut single “Swithen” released in January 2026 [3]. Both tracks will be featured on Kuumet‘s highly anticipated debut album, set to drop later in 2026.
