A raw, hard-hitting live affair with one of Denmark’s most prominent Rock and Metal producers.
On November 24th, Witchfang will release their upcoming EP, “Live at Antfarm Studios” — featuring three songs from their debut album Dead Rat City, re-recorded during a live session with Tue Madsen at his studio in Djursland, Denmark.
The three songs – “Rat King Boogie,” “Running Away From You” & “Bite of Death” — are all central pieces of the Dead Rat City universe and play an important role in the overarching story that unfolds throughout the album.
The band describes it as an incredible experience.
“It was kind of a childhood dream to get the chance to work with Tue Madsen, who is, after all, one of Denmark’s greatest rock and metal producers, and who has worked on a lot of the music we ourselves love listening to.”
From workshops to studio sessions.
The live session came about through the band’s participation in the talent development program Proud Artist, organized by Tim Alvin Boström (The Boy That Got Away), which included workshops with prominent figures from the Danish music industry, a showcase concert in Kolding and a final live session with Tue Madsen.
It’s supposed to sound rowdy.
“Our intention from the very beginning was that ‘this is a live session’, so it was natural that it should also sound live. It’s four people in a room playing together, tempos rising and falling with the songs, and imperfections left in the music because that’s what makes it human. It was never meant to sound polished or perfect, and Tue’s philosophy of ‘If it sounds good, it is good’ was a perfect fit for us.”
“Live at Antfarm Studios” will be released digitally on November 24th, 2026.
The three songs will be released as individual singles on streaming platforms throughout the fall on the dates listed below. In addition, the full EP will be released exclusively on Witchfang’s Bandcamp page as early as September 4th, 2026.
