Founded by musicians Fabrizio Santoro and Carlo Fattorini, Trisektor built the foundation of “Laniakea” around an aesthetic philosophy of structural reduction. Rejecting self-indulgent solos, formulaic phrasing, and conventional genre clichés, the duo focuses on timbral exploration, complex rhythmic architecture, and arrangements designed to deconstruct traditional song formats.

Conceptually, the album draws inspiration from the 2014 astronomical discovery of the “Laniakea” supercluster in Mānoa, Hawaii—a vast network of galaxy streams flowing toward an invisible gravitational center. Trisektor mirror this galactic physical phenomena with an internal, psychological journey, balancing macro-cosmic structures against the contours of human consciousness.

The band states: “It turns out that the galaxy isn’t the largest organized structure in the universe — there are things out there on a whole different scale: vast portions of the universe that form incredibly complex structures, millions of light-years of filaments, nodes, and streams of galaxies all flowing around a gravitational attractor whose nature remains a mystery.

Our goal is to forge a contemporary musical identity through a rigorous process of subtraction. We have deliberately chosen to abandon saturated stylistic clichés: no self-indulgent solos or predictable phrasing. Our focus shifts entirely to timbral research, intricate rhythmic architecture, and arrangements designed to deconstruct the traditional song format.

The ten-track record is structured into two distinct movements: Part One – Into Deep Space and Part Two – Into Deep Mind. Musically, the album moves from expansive synth pad atmospheres and fluid rhythm sections to controlled, hypnotic drives, low-frequency electric double bass passages, and dense walls of sound.
