Positioned as the opening track for the second side of their forthcoming eponymous debut LP, “Father, Forgive” represents the band’s oldest composition on the record, establishing the foundational tone for the material that follows. The track introduces the five-piece lineup comprising Celyn Jones, Edward Honey, Elijah Grimes, James Farn, and Sammy Thomas.
The single anchors the group’s debut full-length album, “Wet Towel Flagellation,” released via Olive Hill Records. Recorded over ten days at the Warwick Arts Centre during one of 2026’s most enduring heatwaves, the LP stands as one of the most ambitious releases to emerge from a student band in the West Midlands in recent years. The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Onur Şen-Chadun.
Exploring themes of faith through pain, the record is visually complemented by original artwork created by band members Celyn Jones and Elijah Grimes, drawing on historical imagery connected to Coventry’s religious heritage.
The self-titled album is available in physical and digital formats, including Cassette, CD, LP, and Streaming. To celebrate the release, Wet Towel Flagellation will headline The Tin Music and Arts Centre in Coventry on January 30th as part of Independent Venue Week, marking one of the few opportunities to hear the record performed live in its entirety.
