As a noteworthy surprise in the Prog scene, Hasse Fröberg, singer in the well-known Swedish Prog band The Flower Kings joins Digital Life Project (formerly known as Deaton Lemay Project – aka. D.L.P.) with immediate effect. His new tenure will be in addition to his ongoing work with The Flower Kings and his own project “HFMC.” Their first EU show will be at the ArtRock Festival Reichenbach in April 2026.
“I’m just blown away. I never thought my wildest dreams would come true so quickly—bringing my music to the world’s stages,” says Roby Deaton, keyboardist and composer of D.L.P. “Announcing the addition of such a seasoned professional as Hasse Fröberg as our live voice is beyond exciting. This tops an already exceptional moment for the band, especially since Mike Thorne (SAGA) recorded most of the drum parts on our newest album.”
Fröberg himself shares: “After being asked to consider joining the project, I immediately listened to all three of their albums—which were new to me—and I instantly liked the music a lot. At first, stepping into the role of their outstanding U.S. studio singer, Hadi Kiani, seemed like a real challenge. But once I became familiar with his vocal lines, I grew more comfortable. Then I thought, ‘I still feel young at heart, so why not take the challenge?’ I told my new bandmates I was ready—and I’m really looking forward to this new adventure.”
Oliver Wenzler, owner of Progressive Promotion Records (PPR), who has distributed the last two D.L.P. albums across Europe, adds: “When Frank Jung first introduced me to the band, I was stunned by the creativity and professionalism of their music, the recording standards, and especially Hadi Kiani’s remarkable voice. Bringing Hasse Fröberg on board as the European live counterpart is a milestone for the future of D.L.P.—not only in Europe but possibly worldwide.”
Digital Life Project is a retro-Prog-Metal-AOR band from Houston, Texas. Rising to prominence in the European Progressive Rock scene, they delivered two acclaimed studio albums through Germany’s Progressive Promotion Records (PPR). Their 2023 release “The Fifth Element” held the No. 1 spot on the Belgian Prog Charts for 11 weeks.
Band leader, composer, and keyboardist Roby Deaton has since expanded the project’s reach to European stages, blending sophisticated melodic and symphonic arrangements with a modern soundscape. The band’s latest release, “Digital Life” (April 2025), has received excellent reviews from progressive music critics worldwide.
To support live performances, the project now operates in both the U.S. and Europe. In addition to Fröberg, D.L.P.’s European lineup includes drummers Felix Waldispühl (Flame Drop, Switzerland) and Sammy Wahlandt (Sammary, Germany), alongside bassist Karsten Gehrke and guitarist Frank Jung. In the studio, drums are performed by Mike Thorne (SAGA).
With this strengthened international lineup, Digital Life Project is set to deliver powerful performances across Europe—and beyond.
