Helsingborg, Sweden based 4-piece Post-Metal/Sludge act K L P S published the official lyric video for the second single “KATARSIS” taken from upcoming self-titled album due out on March 07, 2025 via These Hands Melt. Watch the video through the YouTube player below:
“Perhaps the “sludgiest” song we made to date. We wanted this hypnotic feel for it with repetitions but with slight
variations. And focus on the heavy aspect of it. Wouldn’t say Norna-ish but that kind of feeling. We also tried subtle ambience and synths to make the track stand out in a way. To make it eerie in a sense. We played around with some tempo changes for the ending part but i think we concluded that we shouldn’t do anything to “crazy” since we wanted to keep the hypnotic vibe throughout the track.
It’s also the first of two songs on the album that is in Swedish.
The lyric has a double meaning in that, that its both about the the state of the world and the personal journey to cleanse. A purification by fire. And the “fire” can be whatever it wants to be, for every individual or society.“
