“Thick As A Brick 2” (2012) was Ian Anderson‘s ambitious follow-up to Jethro Tull‘s dazzling 1972 opus, “Thick As A Brick.”
On this acclaimed and audacious sequel to a Progressive Rock masterpiece (subtitled Whatever Happened to Gerald Bostock?), Ian Anderson presented an imagined later life of the fictional child prodigy who inspired his original concept.
“TAAB2” poses playful “what-if” scenarios for Bostock’s adulthood — banker, homeless wanderer, preacher, soldier, ordinary man — weaving them into a meditation on fate, chance, and the cyclical nature of life. Musically, the album bridges Anderson’s signature wit and literary flair with a modern Progressive sound, full of dynamic shifts, rich instrumentation, and lyrical introspection.
A deluxe half-speed mastered double black vinyl edition cut by award-winning engineer John Webber at AIR Studios using remastered audio from the original sources.
