Progressive Rock/Metal project Waves Without Sound, the brainchild of Sydney-based multi-instrumentalist and composer Philip Brown, has officially released its long-awaited debut album, “Escape.” The album is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, with physical editions available via Bandcamp.
“Escape” is a bold and immersive sonic experience, featuring five expansive tracks that span 44 minutes of music. The album showcases Waves Without Sound’s dynamic range—from Atmospheric and ethereal Rock passages to Technical Progressive Metal, acoustic Folk interludes, and intense moments of Extreme Metal. The project skillfully blends clean and harsh vocals , intricate instrumentation, and dramatic shifts in tempo and tone.
The album was mixed by Kevin Shirley (Dream Theater, Iron Maiden) and mastered by Brett Caldas-Lima (Ayreon, Devin Townsend), with drums performed by renowned Australian drummer Robin Stone. Brown performs all vocals, guitars, and keyboards, bringing his singular vision to life.
