After the remarkable success story of their long lost but not forgotten album, Dutch Prog band Galaxy, who features Kayak’s lead singer Bart Schwertmann, will be back on tour in the spring of 2023. The set list will consist of an integral performance of the album “Runaway Men,” plus some big surprises.
Schwertmann says: “Of course, when it was clear that Shaded Moon Records was going to release our album, the question of live performance arose. I think it took us some time to adjust to that idea, not just musically, but maybe even more in relation to everyone’s pretty busy schedule.“
But when the album “Runaway Men” was so well received by prog and metal fans from all over the world, Galaxy simply couldn’t resist the request of many to bring the album to life on the stage as well.
Schwertmann adds: “Immediately after the Kayak farewell tour we secretly got together in our former rehearsal room. It seemed as if time had stood still. Of course at first it felt a bit rusty here and there, but the magical spark was still present, incredible! We could just pick up where we had left off so many years ago. The band still sounds amazing, so fresh and tight.
That means the band will be back on tour after 25 years.
But… The story doesn’t end there, the guys have decided they will start working on a new album as well!
Schwertmann: “We’re very eager to find out what being apart for 25 years will mean to us writing new songs together. I know we all have plenty of ideas as individuals, but Galaxy-songs have always been a true group effort. And we wouldn’t want to do it any other way… And who knows: If all goes well, you might hear some new stuff live next year!”
