“Where No One Goes starts out in this bleak, hellish, ethereal, self-created place – not this fiery hellscape, but something more like what we see in Paradise Lost, which is quoted in the chorus. But the track refuses to stay there. Sonically and lyrically, it seeks something luminous in the darkness, it seeks a path forward. When I wrote this track, I was coming out of this really dark, difficult place; writing it was, in a way, a path forward for myself. It ended up being a path forward for the band, too, since it was also a big shift in songwriting for us. It was the first track we wrote for Onward Strides Colossus and definitely set the tone sonically.” – Taylor D. Waring
