As a breath of fresh air from the north, MÍO are releasing the title-track from their upcoming debut album “Ingen tid å miste” today. The band has already made a mark in the underground with boosting live shows and a distinctive sound, comprised of mixing up genres in a way never heard before, borrowing from Nordic Folk music, 70´s Prog and Punk.
The melancholic single “Ingen tid å miste” [No Time to Lose] deals with the paradox of being trapped in a confirmative nine to five while still feeling like an outsider. MÍO takes the listener on a bittersweet musical journey through the empty routines of everyday life and the greater existential unrest lying underneath. Several layers of string instruments paint an uneasy backdrop for Dionisia‘s powerful vocals, which go from gently breathing down the listener’s neck to shouting in their face.
MÍO tells; “´Ingen tid å miste’ is our tribute to the character Elling from the world known book series ‘Beyond the Great Indoors’ by the author Ingvar Ambjornsen, and is strongly inspired by both the action and the melancholic as well as vulnerable tone of the books. The single depicts Elling spying on his neighbors out of loneliness, through a telescope he has standing by the window. The chorus has a surprisingly good sing-along factor, and the audience always joins in, which makes this song a live favorite of ours”
Even though the band sings in Norwegian, there are already talks of touring abroad, which shows that music is a universal language, and even though you don’t connect with the spoken language right away, you still might be able to connect to the unique sound and mystic atmosphere surrounding the band.
The single “Ingen tid å miste” is out on Friday March 3rd. Their debut album ‘Ingen tid å miste’ is released on both vinyl and digitally on June 9th this year on Sailor Music/Lilith Records.
