Envy Of None, the new band of Alex Lifeson (Rush), Andy Curran (Coney Hatch), Alfio Annibalini and singer Maiah Wynne, has just released a new EP “That Was Then, This Is Now” on June 09, 2023 via Kscope.
The all-star band continues the exponential growth of its atmospheric, edgy sound that has taken the world by surprise. The new EP is made up of highly adventurous tracks consisting of remixes of “Dumkoptf” and “Dog’s Life” along with “Lethe River” and “You’ll Be Sorry,” previously only released on the deluxe edition of their debut album.
After these, the EP culminates with the recently recorded track “That Was Then.” The track sways with progressive dexterity and is a perfect example of the limitless writing ability that this incredible band showcases.
All tracks were written, arranged, recorded and produced by Envy Of None.
To celebrate the release of the EP, Envy Of None have revealed a beautiful and evocative new video for “That Was Then,” created by Olivier Boscovitch, who has previously worked with David Guetta. The artist was chosen by Curran to create a video inspired by Wynne’s lyrics that depicts both a metaphorical and literal pursuit. The video recalls the idea of retro pop art genius Roy Lichtenstein, seen through the lens of a psychedelic graphic novel, in the vibrant and stylistic imagery of the beautiful clip. Curran comments: “The video was created by the super-talented Olivier Boscovitch. I discovered some of his work online, contacted him and he really liked the song ‘That Was Then’. He was inspired by the dark and haunting lyrics Maiah wrote for the song. He proposed the concept of a girl riding in a helicopter travelling through a fictitious, trippy landscape, basically her life, while being chased by a villain in a muscle car. The driver of the car represents the person in our life from whom we are moving away. Olivier’s incredible graphics testify to his unique creativity. We are very lucky to work with him.”

He continues:
“The new EP has that song sandwiched between some really trippy remixes that we had some serious fun creating. We’re also looking forward to sharing all of these songs in 360 surround sound to take it one step further. Stay tuned for more cool news around the corner for EON…”
