Finnish Hard Rock powerhouse Serpico has released the official music video for their new single, “Sweet Rebel Darling,” taken from the upcoming album “Dressed in Flesh,” due out September 12, 2025 via Golden Robot Records.
Written and composed by Vee Dour (Kalle Virtanen), with arrangements by Serpico and Anssi Kippo, and produced at Astia Studio by Kippo, “Sweet Rebel Darling” is more than a song—it’s a celebration of freedom, free will, and raw, untamed Rock energy. The track was inspired by a touching documentary about the Council of the Hipe, a peaceful group constantly under governmental pressure.
Frontman Vee Dour explains:
Seeing a group that loved peace be treated as a threat—it was surreal. Their ingenuity and commitment to secrecy won my sympathy, and this song became a hymn to freedom, love, and rebellion. It’s a primitive cry into the unknown, with a hint of anarchy, influenced by the spirit of road movies.
Drummer Jani Serpico adds:
When we recorded this, I immediately dug it. Anssi Kippo nailed a drum sound that makes the stereo rock like crazy. The song grows as it rolls forward—every instrument adds its own voice, every rhythm detail matters. It’s hard rock with its own heartbeat, and it feels completely ‘Ride Free’—just like life should be.
