After the acclaimed live album “Sublimazione,” Il Segno del Comando once again lifts the veil of mystery with the release of the official video for “Voci Notturne.” The song previews the release of the split album of the same name (shared with ExpiatoriA), a conceptual work that pays homage to the dreamlike and disturbing atmosphere of Pupi Avati‘s famous television series.

Led by bassist and founder Diego Banchero, the video transposes into images the dark sounds and alchemical plots that have distinguished the band for thirty years. The footage, characterized by Gothic and symbolist photography, leads the listener into the depths of an esoteric and secretive Rome, where Progressive Rock blends with Dark Jazz influences and Occult narratives.

With this video, we wanted to capture the essence of the invisible,” the band states. “‘Voci Notturne’ is not just a tribute to a television masterpiece, but a sonic journey towards ‘Zero,’ towards that point of contact between the sensible world and the unknown.

The video is now available on the band’s official YouTube channel and previews the major Release Show scheduled for March 8, 2026, at La Claque in Genoa, an event that will officially kick off the European tour, which will also visit Romania and several Italian cities.

— A brief story of Voci Notturne —

Voci Notturne” (“Night Voices”) is a 1995 Italian miniseries by Pupi Avati that has gained cult status among mystery and Occult fans.

The story begins with a body found in the Tiber, Rome’s river, possibly belonging to Giacomo Fiorenza, son of a wealthy industrialist, though its identity and cause of death remain uncertain. The corpse bears strange signs: bound hands, ritual circumcision, garum smeared on the skin, and silphium seeds in the stomach. Giacomo’s friend Stefano investigates the case through ancient texts, while in the U.S. an investigator searches for Giacomo’s Jewish girlfriend, Emily Cohen. Their paths uncover connections to an esoteric sect called the Theosophical Society for the Return of the Original Spirit. The mysterious figure Norberto Sinisgalli, with ties to World War II and Occult practices, emerges as key to the riddle. Meanwhile, Giacomo’s parents receive eerie night calls that seem to carry his voice from beyond the grave. The narrative weaves together politics, religion, history, and the supernatural across continents and decades. Its unsettling atmosphere grows as truth and illusion blur. The series concludes with ambiguity, leaving many mysteries unresolved and the viewer suspended between reason and the unknown.
