Saint Axe is back — and this time with a full demo in hand.
The Stoner/Doom project from Morgantown, West Virginia — the same city that gave birth to Karma to Burn — has dropped its self-titled “Demo” today, May 13, 2026, via Bandcamp. Seven tracks of thick riffs, doom-soaked atmosphere, and raw energy from a project that, in just a few months, has already made clear it knows exactly what it wants to sound like.
We first covered Saint Axe back in March, when “Dopesick Angel” — preceded by the crushing six-minute opener “Danu’s Coven” — confirmed the project as one of the most promising underground finds in the Stoner/Doom scene. Both tracks now find their place in this debut demo alongside three new originals: “Plant Cult”, “Velvet Guillotine”, and “The Arrow of Beelzebub” — plus the bluntly titled “Warm Up / Dick Off”. Doom Metal, Stoner Metal, Stoner Rock. No detours.
Rounding out the release are two covers previously released as stand-alone singles: Electric Wizard‘s monolithic “Funeralopolis” and Marty Robbins‘ outlaw Country classic “They’re Hanging Me Tonight” — a pairing that says everything about where this project’s roots run deep.
The demo also arrives with a striking new visual identity — fresh logo and new artwork that perfectly match the occult, heavy spirit of the music. Whoever is behind them, they nailed it.
