Chris Horses & The Slow Smoke have unveiled their latest single “Cheeserolling,” taken from their upcoming album, “Nowhere Bound,” due out this September via Devil’s Fork Records.
“I’ve just left the battlefield, seeking shelter from the storm.”
This is, to me, a song about life. The Brits invented this crazy and unnecessarily dangerous “discipline” called “cheeserolling” many, many years ago and, in my own view, it seems to be a pretty accurate metaphor of life: the wheel of cheese they throw down the hill is the goals that we try to achieve, and to follow them we have to throw ourselves down that hill, hurting ourselves a lot.

Chris Horses & The Slow Smoke move like a slow-burning road story through the heart of Americana, where dust, distance, and memory blur into song. Rooted in country and southern rock traditions, the Italian quartet weaves blues-soaked guitars and cinematic textures into music that feels both worn-in and wide open.
Guided by the voice and songwriting of Chris Horses (Cristian Secco), their sound carries the weight of small-town shadows, late-night revelations, and the kind of honesty that only comes after miles on the road.
